King Charles Cavaliers often dislike water due to their natural temperament and breed characteristics. They are companion dogs that enjoy staying close to their owners and often prefer dry, comfortable environments.
Additionally, their coat can become heavy and uncomfortable when wet, which may make them reluctant to get into water. Early experiences and lack of exposure to water can also contribute to their dislike.
With gentle, positive exposure, some Cavaliers can learn to tolerate or even enjoy water activities.
